Hungry for cake?

Today I’m a guest at {Romance Recipes}. Pop over to read a recipe from my cake-laden Greek Orthodox romance The Salvation of Jeffrey Lapin and enter to win the frosting’s secret ingredient!

Check out this unusual Christian romance where grace enters the picture by way of the dessert course.

Hello! I am your puppy. I am right here if you need me. R i g h t h e r e. #doctorhoratiobiscuit
We learned about St. Lucia in Sunday school. We continued our discussion of the Magi and made surprise gifts for our parents. (We made a tunnel from our blocks to let the kids try out the candle crown.) #handsonsundayschool #accessiblechurchschool #stnektariosacademy #orthodoxkids
Part one of our St. Barbara feast day celebration is complete! The #childrenofjoy made the sign of the Cross in the scone dough. When we baked them, the cross was still there! This reminds us of the cross that stayed in the marble when St. Barbara made the Cross with her finger. #stbarbara #orthodoxkids
I bought these silicone house molds for the gluten free gingerbread. I’m hoping that I can assemble the finished walls into a GF gingerbread house, but at least it will taste nice if not.
I laugh when I see this warning near our house. A church is doing a construction project and has this sign reading, “CAUTION Ducks and construction equipment exiting drive.” The kids giggle at the thought of ducks driving construction equipment.
Today in class we learned more about St. Nicholas before his feast later this week. Then, to our surprise, we found that he had left chocolate coins in the kids’ shoes, too! It was such a lovely day that the kids spent an hour playing outside behind the church on the playground and running back and forth to the lovely (and possibly fairy-dwelling) tree. (Two of our boys had swollen tonsils this morning, so I took the girls and JJ to church.) #handsonlearning #accessiblechurchschool #handsonsundayschool
Bazzy knocked down some books again. When I went to clean, I found these beautiful handmade Christmas cards from Dr. Roland Bainton (a famous church historian) to my dear professor of blessed memory Dr. Norman Spellman. They had fallen out of one of the books given to me by Dr. Spellman when he retired. (Probably Erasmus, who first introduced me to the ancient Christian concept of synergy with the Holy Spirit.) #oldbooks #churchhistory
The children had fun playing with Grammy on her visit this morning. Liggle Bitty especially loved swinging with Grammy and listening to the Twelve Days Of Christmas. #childrenofjoy
We’ve started our Advent craft of decorating candles with golden beeswax. #childrenofjoy #adventtradition #nativityfast #candledecorating
